As midcentury modern style grows more popular, many retailers are stocking new pieces that evoke the feel of midcentury greats. These chairs are inspired by classic Bertoia Knoll wire chairs, but offer a slightly more streamlined silhouette and an on-trend, emerald-green hue.
Keeping with the Moroccan theme, designer Joe Human layered this eclectic outdoor space with bold patterns and faux greenery. Two wire chairs ensure that there's plenty of sitting room for guests, while blue and white pillows provide additional comfort.
A step outside the blue French doors leads to the front patio at this California beach home. White cushioned swivel chairs and a built-in corner bench surround the ground-level fire pit, and a large dining table with wire chairs creates an outdoor dining space. Plants border the yard, adding natural life and color.
A triangle table is a simple twist on the conventional table shape perfect for adding a touch of intrigue to this simple balcony design. The natural wood furniture finish matches the wood floor for a calm and cohesive outdoor look. A wire railing leaves the space feeling more open and connected to the surrounding yard.
An arched nook cut into a light blue wall has been painted coral orange. The bright wall displays six framed actual cameras. A round, white dining table and its four cushioned wire chairs create a fun and cozy breakfast nook.
An eclectic living room full of inspiring color + pattern. Somehow the order got mixed up for the chairs, so at the last minute the gold wire chairs and the Mongolian fur bench were purchased. The low profile of the bench and the "see through" chairs keep the room from feeling too heavy.
All it takes to create an outdoor getaway is a comfortable chair or two. Here, designer Erin Benedict chose a pair of Adirondack chairs softened by large cushy pillows. And, note the pulled-back curtain to one side: If you have a place to hang a curtain rod or wire, an outdoor curtain adds softness and privacy. “Elegant black and gold striped drapes perfectly frame the Adirondack chairs, adding a contemporary element while complementing the timeless architectural details of the early 1920s structure,” Benedict says.
A blue sofa, white wire chairs and a neutral area rug create a cozy contemporary sitting space. A large natural gray rock fireplace surround is a textural accent wall providing pleasing contrast to the smooth, sweet style of the seating. A built in bookshelf pops against the white walls and creates an organized space for storage and display.
