To promote a feeling of unity between the indoor and outdoor spaces, interior designer Linda Woodrum chose a neutral, controlled palette for the HGTV Green Home 2012 living room. Furnishings, though captivating, do not distract from the view. A mix of styles and textures like the rustic wood coffee table, shag rug and contemporary wingback armchairs keeps the space feeling cozy and fresh.
In the 2014 HGTV Dream Home living room, yellow accents pop against wood and metal. Skirted and striped armchairs pair with a yellow Windsor and wingback chair, while a fluffy neutral rug softens the dark hardwood floors.
Custom-designed mohair sofas, linen armchairs and a Cathare coffee table by Christian Liaigre define the sitting area. Over the vertical fireplace, a 19th-century English portrait adds a touch of romance. In the reading corner is an exotic wingback chair, upholstered in oxblood leather.
