The landscape designers of this backyard helped the space feel dynamic with different levels and functions. Here, a raised patio is both a place to relax and dine with lounge chairs and a petite cafe table.
While staying true to the architecture of the house, modern design elements were incorporated as well. The barbecue enclosure is veneered with limestone in a subway tile cut, while a trellis added to the garage adds shade over the outdoor kitchen area. Due to the limited space of the backyard, the original backyard did not provide adequate lounging space for the homeowners. A dry deck is added within the pool perimeter, using lightweight blocks to ensure no unnecessary weight was put on the existing gunite shell.
A white custom sectional sofa is paired with a classic Eames chair and matching ottoman to create this cozy living room sitting area. A large Restoration Hardware coffee table offers a convenient spot to set drinks and food, or to display a few knickknacks.
Originally a guest house, this space was converted into an indoor-outdoor cabana with Carrara marble and French White Oak accents, a custom wet bar complete with a sink, refrigerator, ice machine, storage, and 20-foot-long glass doors that pocket.
This contemporary home seamlessly blends indoors and out. The chic living room completely opens up to a covered outdoor seating area. A black-and-white palette give the rooms a modern, sophisticated feeling.
