Just off the kitchen and dining area, the new sitting room has modern slate floors and simple, gray linen window treatments. The home's original wainscoting was removed, modernizing the space, and the walls were painted a warm beige. To add contrast to the room, Joanna brought in bright yellow pillows and shiny, metallic lamps and tables, while a white picket gate with the work "family" attached to it hangs above the cozy, white sofa, softening the space.

Perhaps our favorite part of this bedroom is the sliding barn door that reveals the bathroom and small study area. The door is painted a lovely shade of lavender that is also found in the bedding. The room feels bright and airy thanks to the natural light pouring from the windows and reflecting off the stark white walls.
Custom polka dot draperies and white island raffia wallpaper set the tone for this comfortable living room. A linen couch and custom throw pillows in various patterns complement the upholstered light blue armchairs, tying together the room's color palette. A natural oak coffee table has clear acrylic legs, giving the illusion of a floating table, adding a contemporary touch to this traditional space.
A metal roof supported by white columns provides some covered deck space, offering plenty of shade across the deck. A small swimming pool, adjacent dining area and outdoor kitchen provide a luxurious entertaining space. Pops of bright blue in the lounge chairs, ceramic planters and dining table linens are reminiscent of the blue ocean waters, which inspire this Florida home.
The luxurious furniture in this sitting room mirrors the beauty and serenity of the nature outside. The linen furniture helps bring the relaxing feel to the space, while the white top and the metallic legs of the table reflect the sunlight that pour in through the floor to ceiling windows facing the beach making the space the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view.
Soft as the dawn, Millennial Pink is a soothing (and skin-flattering) choice for bedroom walls and linens. To keep the look from getting too sweet, be sure to add hints of natural texture and contrasting neutrals as the team at Nathan + Jack did in this contemporary bedroom. Shades of gray, white, black, and even navy blue all live comfortably with pale pink.
The white walls are extended from the common areas into the bedrooms and private spaces. To add pops of color, though, this bed is clad in pink and navy geometric bed linens. At the foot of the bed, a distressed, zebra print bench provides extra seating and a little bit of fun, while a sliding door separates this bedroom from the rest of the house.
A vintage mercury-glass lamp sits on the dark wood dresser, which also serves as a nightstand, in this neutral transitional bedroom. The mercury lamp complements the large silver headboard attached to the wall, while Sferra bedding creates a crisp white backdrop for custom pillows to tie the room together. Matching upholstery on a bench at the end of the bed creates a cohesive, sophisticated space.
For her shed, Sherrod went with a "desert sanctuary" theme. "I'm authentically drawn to the colors jade and coral, so I tied those in where possible," says Sherrod. "As an earthy, crunchy Scorpio, I am inspired by elements of nature, so you'll find cactus plants, live edge teak wood, white moonstones, selenite and quartz, a eucalyptus ladder, jute rug, kilim pillows and linen draperies."
Plain white dishes and linens are an easy choice for a bridal shower — dress up each place setting by tying a bow around each dish. While this is a casual affair, it's also a special day, so break out the silver when you set the table.
There's a distressed quality to this coastal nightstand that adds a beautiful contrast to the bright, fresh surroundings. Coastal decorations add personality to the stand while keeping with the fresh and simple feel of the design. A white bed frame is covered with bright salmon linens and a turquoise throw blanket for pops of vivid color.
An assortment of seashells, sea glass and coral decorates the top of the white dresser. A grasscloth finish on the dresser complements the coastal theme of the accessories. A mirror with a herringbone pattern of inlaid bone reflects the light from a seafoam green lamp with a linen shade, creating soft lighting and tying the decor together.
Bedding in the home’s signature black and white color palette juxtaposes stripes and polka-dots for a very modern mix of patterns. Pops of orange throughout the room liven up the space while giving it a warm yet youthful feel. Even more color finds it way in through the metallic side table and lamp, while leopard-patterned pillows on both beds tie the colors and patterns together.
Colors in the bright polka-dot bedding in this contemporary teen's bedroom are used throughout the space, particularly in the colorful modern artwork. A white lacquered console table paired with an acrylic stool creates a chic vanity. Meanwhile, bright blue walls, bold prints and a mod Parsons desk combine for a fun, contemporary space where a teen can sleep, study and hang out with friends.
This kid's bedroom, from HGTV Green Home 2102, features twin beds dressed in green and white organic cotton linens. A layering of textures and fabric patterns, like the zigzag headboards, suits both children and discriminating house guests. A cozy loft is situated above the beds; a wooden ladder provides a treehouse-like entrance, while a clever bucket and pulley system keeps the space stocked with treats and supplies.
In addition to well-coordinated dinnerware, chargers, linens, runners and flowers, consider adding ambient light to your tabletop with polished pewter, brass or silver candlesticks. Once placed among the all-white elements, the shape and finish of the candlesticks will add depth while also bringing a warm glow.
This bedroom takes on a rockstar theme with a "STAR" wall hanging, guitar pillows and spotlight tripod lamps positioned on either side of the bed. The plum hue seen on the curtains and bed linens makes it way into the sitting area with a faux fur rug. A tufted white leather chair provides the perfect spot for guitar practice.
Surrounded by white wall paneling, symmetry was used to arrange flanking chairs and the cream sofa in this transitional living room. All furniture is covered in linen in varying shades of creams and grays, while chartreuse and soft lavender are used as accent colors. A large reclaimed-wood coffee table anchors the room, while two burlap sculptural chairs with pivoting wall sconces can be used as reading corners.
