The homeowners wanted a light, airy kitchen space that blends into the outdoor entertainment space. To help achieve this goal, designer Christen Ales installed walls of windows to separate the indoor and outdoor spaces. This feature allows plenty of beautiful natural light into the space to reflect off of the neutral color palette, creating the feel the homeowners desired.
As seen on Vacation House For Free, the previous door was knocked down and the wall was opened up to allow light to flow into the rest of the house. The wall was evened out, which allowed for the vaulted ceiling in the dining space.
A shiny, hammered metal rim in the under-mount sink adds a jewel-like accent and a custom touch in this traditional bathroom. Embellished wood sconces with a beaded trim are mirror-mounted for a streamlined look, while recessed cans provide additional task lighting.
Using a strong color on a dividing wall creates a confident accent without overpowering the calm of this contemporary office. Open spacing between the wall and the ceiling provides room for additional lighting and forms a horizontal line beneath the slanting ceiling. Additional fixtures complement the sleek and contemporary chairs and conference table.
This European-inspired kitchen features the latest in appliances. The Miele coffee center and wine refrigerator are the focal points and flank the sleek Poggenpohl cabinetry. The Swarovski crystal chandelier brings shine to the space, while the wood stools and wood-like porcelain tile flooring accents bring visual warmth. This kitchen and living room combo includes bright, fresh color, for a "happy" feel. The kitchen opens into a comfy living room which makes a perfect space for entertaining. A coffee table holds plants and stacks of books; nearby sofas and chairs are perfect for reading. A light, natural wood accent wall adds subtle and effective texture against the light turquoise walls and white crown molding. The pale turquoise is repeated on the bench at the foot of the bed and a final touch on the smallest throw pillow. Salmon pink bed covers add a bright pop of color with a dainty, matching pattern on the curtains. A feminine white bed frame is a perfect fit for the design.
Bright yellow walls catch the natural and artificial light to create a bright atmosphere in the open floor design. Marble countertops and the woodgrain cabinet finish keep with the light and spacious look. Keeping the countertops and walls free of clutter accentuates the modern style and allows the surrounding mountain view to provide natural decor.
Neutral marble tiling creates a walkway next to the bright grass in this gorgeous backyard. A glass wall defines the property while keeping it open to the surrounding greenery. Plants line the wall for a decorative finish.
