A Walker Zanger porcelain tile floor in a honeycomb pattern embraces a stone-like palette that's echoed in the hallway and outdoor terrace beyond this powder room at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. Hardware and lighting adds a luxe twist to the otherwise natural, bohemian vibe.
Steps away from the doorway to the outdoors, the lower level powder room at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase continues the look of the outside stone terrace with a Walker Zanger porcelain tile floor in a honeycomb pattern. The palette continues the look of stone, while hardware and lighting adds a luxe twist to the otherwise bohemian vibe.
Walker Zanger stone floors set the stage for the exposed polished nickel plumbing and towel warmer, the antique silver chandelier and leaded glass window. The Water Monopoly tub was fashioned after a 19th-century French tub and stands surrounded by neutral Waterworks and Sonoma Tilemakers tile.
Geometric patterns (octagons are the star shape) and the color pink are the unifying elements of this kitchen's jazzy design. Graphic tile by Walker Zanger decorates the floor. And playful twists are everywhere: goat legs for these upholstered stools, hot pink tassels on the motorized shades.
Dark gray cabinets are striking in a kitchen, especially when set against a white backsplash with Moroccan-style tile from Walker Zanger. A white quartz-top island surrounded by black Arhaus counter stools also has high-contrast, high-impact style—yet it’s easy to clean after crafting marathons. Above it, Sonal hung two giant lanterns by Savoy House in a finish that plays off the cabinet color.
After passing through the courtyard doors, you are welcomed by dual fountain features that frame the walkway and provide a tranquil feeling upon entry into this private space.
Finding the right glass waterline tile for fountain and spa was difficult since we wanted it to be complementary to the antique brick and terra cotta paving colors, but the Bamboo Blend (Weave Series from Walker Zanger) provide the right balance of color, while also providing enough of a highlight.
