Wood Paneled Balcony
Casa Xixim, a stunning villa in Tulum, Mexico, is an eco-friendly, grid-tied, net-neutral house that works in harmony with its surroundings. Occupants can take in the tropical setting from numerous balconies and patios.
Neutral Modern Home Exterior With Wood Accent Panel, Small Balcony, Patio Outdoor Living Room and Open Backyard
The smooth neutral exterior design of this home is given a two-tone effect with an accent wood panel on the upper half of the house. Meeting the wood panel in the center of the wall is a small balcony. On the ground, a patio space creates a base for a cozy outdoor living room complete with fireplace. From the patio the space transitions to the open, bright backyard.
In this bedroom (one of three), the bed and tv cabinet pick up the rich, reddish-brown hue of the ceiling's wood paneling. Occupants can take full advantage of the view by stepping out onto the balcony.
Urban Patio With Wood Privacy Fence and Dark Brown Wicker Sectional
Rather than pay to remove the unsightly metal fence from her Chicago apartment patio, Erica Lugbill of Lugbill Designs covered it up with stained and pressure-treated lumber. The horizontal panels create privacy that the pre-existing metal fence didn’t offer. Red chairs provide a fun pop of color against the brown and gray tones of the patio.
The second-floor walkway opens up to the traditional wine room below. Warm wood paneling and molding surround the space, while an L-shaped bar with barrel armchairs are the perfect place to grab a drink.
Library: Cape Cod Estate on Buzzards Bay in Dartmouth, Mass.
In the west tower of the home, the wood-paneled library features a floor-to-ceiling beachstone and driftwood chimney breast under a beamed and vaulted ceiling. An arched door leads to a waterfront balcony.
This room features a mix of traditional farmhouse elements with clean lines and contemporary styling. A pair of traditional candle chandeliers contrast with a glass-paneled balcony railing. A rustic wood lintel supports the wide opening between the kitchen and living space.
