Urban Patio With Wood Privacy Fence and Dark Brown Wicker Sectional
Rather than pay to remove the unsightly metal fence from her Chicago apartment patio, Erica Lugbill of Lugbill Designs covered it up with stained and pressure-treated lumber. The horizontal panels create privacy that the pre-existing metal fence didn’t offer. Red chairs provide a fun pop of color against the brown and gray tones of the patio.
A wood fence not only separates the meadow from the rest of the home, but also furthers the sense of being in the country. Thanks to its earthy hues, the piece pairs beautifully with shrubs and other plants, too.
The second story addition to this contemporary home was made from a combination of stucco, stone and taupe synthetic wood siding ––––all materials which satisfy the high-fire zone requirements in this California neighborhood. A horizontal wood fence and gate frame the paver stone yard, leading to the front door.
Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines transformed and updated this farmhouse with new paint and warm natural wood support beams, porch railings and fencing. New landscaping and modern potted plants offer a welcoming first impression.
