Black and White Contemporary WIne Bar
This small, contemporary wine bar packs a punch with striking details. Black and white, wall-mounted wine holders create an artful display in this stylish urban space. Exposed light bulbs hang from an eye-catching ceiling fixture and a state-of-the-art wine cooler adds additional storage.
The bar in this home's finished basement sits next to the open windows that lead to the outside bar. The bar has a cement top and is surrounded by unfinished wood to give an industrial feel. A built-in beer tap adds to the unique look of the area.
An oversized geometric chandelier hangs above the the circular extension on the quartzite bar, creating an intimate dining spot in Houston's Beckrew Wine House. The facade of the bar is a mosaic of hexagon tiles, while the backdrop to the space contrasts against the contemporary with a rustic brick accent wall.
Painting the paneling and beams white, instead of their former dark brown, brightens and modernizes the living room and bar area. Floors were finished in an ebony stain to further set the stage for lots of colorful accents.

Gindesigns transformed a previous wine bar into the Beckrew Wine House, in Houston’s Upper Kirby District. Clad in sophisticated quartzite, the bar is lengthened and faces a rustic white brick accent wall with open shelving. The facade of the bar features a mosaic of hexagon tiles and large geometric chandeliers by Adamlamp highlight seating areas.
Anchored at the end of a large, open floor plan living space is a chic wet bar with barstools. The frameless glass wine room is outlined with bookmatched wood walls and ceilings, creating a space that features the homeowners' sophisticated style and taste.
This glamorous kitchen even includes a bar area with beautiful glass front cabinets, wine storage and a mini refrigerator. A low countertop separates it from the living room while still allowing easy access when entertaining.
Textured black tile provides eye-catching contrast against the smooth white cabinets in this bar area. The textured backsplash coordinates with the backsplash in a nearby powder room, giving the home a sense of cohesion and flow.
Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines removed the wall between the homeowners' kitchen and dining room and they installed a natural wood support beam in it's place. All new white cabinets and black marble countertops bring a modern look to the kitchen, and two hanging globe light fixtures illuminate the breakfast bar. A new stainless steel range and vent hood is surrounded by a beveled subway tile backsplash.
