White Contemporary Bedroom With Owl
Two twin beds take on daybed flexibility tucked next to each other in the corner. Add throw pillows and they're a cozy sofa! The white walls and bed linens become a springboard for vibrant artwork and accessories.
Floor-to-ceiling windows make the outdoors an integral part of this contemporary bedroom design. A platform bedroom is dressed with black-and-white floral bedding, adding a cottage touch to the space, while graphic art brings modern style.
To create an architectural element worthy of a luxury hotel, Atlanta designer Rachel Greathouse started with a $30 mirror at a flea market. She painted the four-paned frame in a gloss that matched the wall color, and then hung the mirror at a 45 degree angle for an interesting visual effect. From its place above the bed, the mirror can appear like a diamond-shaped window because it reflects the windows on the opposite wall.
Crisp, white walls are a clean backdrop in this contemporary bedroom that uses bright pink in the window treatments and bed linens. A sleek modern nightstand is topped with a sculptural gold lamp to provide task lighting.
This ethereal all-white bedroom is like living in a cloud. A sleeping platform seems to float above the matching twin beds, accessible via a ladder and filled with pillows. A plush shag rug is a delight for bare toes.
Layering and texture provide visual interest in this drama-filled gray and white bedroom. A modern painting above the richly layered, upholstered bed emphasizes the room's play on dark and light. Sheer draperies give the space a dreamy feel.
