Roundabout Brings Old-World Elegance to the Front of This Home

Dropped Ceiling Helps to Modernize Home and Create Individual Spaces While Maintaining Continuity
When considering a renovation, the homeowners had several items on their wish list. The back stairs needed to be restored; the eat-in area needed to be updated, and the homeowners wanted the individual spaces in their home to be defined, so designers made these dreams a reality. The stairs that had been closed off have been renovated and are now functional. The eat-in area has been modernized by pushing the walls back to create more space and by adding a red accent wall and modern furnishings. To create the delineation homeowners wanted between spaces, designers dropped the ceiling to create a clear pathway from the front of the house to the back, giving each space its own separate area while still keeping the home connected.
An open kitchen shelf displays a playful melange of bowls, a reflection of the masterful mix of elements throughout the house. The sleek bowls counterbalance the antique baskets, making the arrangement feel balanced.
To help with the look of the beach house theme in the Miller family's home, sea glass tile fills the walls of the new bathroom, along with a new modern sink and cabinet. As seen on HGTV's "Cousins On Call".
