The floating concrete staircase is one of Luke’s favorite features in the house — shout-out to Clint for helping make it structurally sound. It’s spruced up for the holidays with cypress garland and black-and-white bows, while wrapped presents ready to be doled out to extended family do double duty as decor.
Modern Foyer and Hall With Frosted Glass Front Door
As designed by Angelica Henry, this home's foyer is a treat for aficionados of modern style. An entry door with semi-translucent, laminated glass makes a interesting first impression in its design simplicity. The foyer wall's neutral gray finishes allow the contemporary-styled furnishings and colorful, hand-painted artwork to carry the room.
A wrought iron gate leads the way to this home's front entrance, a rustic stone hall with an exposed beam ceiling and a Mediterranean style wooden front door. Globe pendant lights hang above, while green benches add a pop of color.
This neutral entry hall is designed to soothe the stress of the day when you walk in the room. A pair of glass pendant lights add symmetry, as do the pair of electric candlesticks on either side of the art on the wall. The transom over the front door allows sunlight to illuminate the hall.
Contemporary Entryway With Brazilian Chestnut Floors
Gleaming Brazilian chestnut floors greet guests as they enter the front hall of HGTV Dream Home 2010. Tongue-and-groove pine ceiling, decorative beams inspired by traditional vigas and smoke bell lanterns complete the look.
Glass-Enclosed Hall Blurs Lines Between Indoors and Out
Thin black trim and windows on all sides make walking upstairs feel like floating through air, blurring the lines between the home's interior and exterior. Face the front of the hall and enjoy a clear line of sight straight to the water.
Modern Hall Leading to Backyard With Hardwood Floor and Steps and White Walls
This design features a long curving hall that sweeps through the house. The result is a deep focus space with an unimpeded view from the front door across the entire house and out to the back garden. This continuous space dramatically enhances the circulation of natural ventilation and light. Clerestory windows throughout the house significantly lower the need for artificial light, adding to the house’s sustainability. Cutouts in the wall house simple decoration for added color.
This view is of the front hall from the entry door toward the family room, which has glass doors - currently opened. The staircase was pushed to the side so as not to call too much attention.
At 11,000 square feet, the challenge was to create spaces that were gracious, but not overwhelming. This home is large, but each room feels personal, and the residents do not feel dwarfed by the space.
Contemporary Black Dresser and Zebra Print Rug in Transitional Hall Design With Mirror Panels
A zebra rug brings a fun element and pattern to this stylish hall. A black dresser with stainless steel handles sits in front of mirror panels on the wall creating a reflective look for the space. Cube shade sconces mounted to the mirror keep the area bright.
Front Yard Waterfall With Boulder Landscape Shaping and Surrounding Garden
This gorgeous front entrance features a rock lined waterfall splashing down on a bed of rocks. Bright perennial and annual gardens surround the water feature for a lush, mountainous look. Stone columns frame the covered entrance hall leading to the front door.
