If you have a bit more room to play with, the wet bar offers the opportunity to incorporate extra refrigeration, a second sink and even a recycling center. Designer Nathan J. Reynolds fit all this and more into this project. “This wet bar was designed with entertaining in mind,” he says. “The top refrigerator drawer is perfect for storing cold water, soda, beer — even juice boxes for the kids. The bottom freezer drawer makes ice and is great for chilling glasses and liquor. Fill the sink up with ice and display the beverages offered to guests for the evening. The far right drawer is handy for bottle openers, napkins and bar utensils for the bartender. Below the drawer is a recycling center pull-out with trash and recycling for the empty bottles. The countertop space is generous for displaying beverages and making your favorite cocktail.”
Bay Windows Brighten Newly Remodeled Open Plan Kitchen
To make this kitchen seem lighter and brighter, Chip and Joanna, of HGTV's Fixer Upper, made good use of the bay windows. By removing curtains and allowing plenty of natural light into the space, the neutral white color palette reflects the light, creating a bright, open, inviting kitchen with plenty of prep space and seating.
Modern Dining Room Creates Statement Piece in Home's Main Space
The dining room in this open concept home stands as a statement piece in the main space. The dining set-a white, modern table and contrasting black chairs-and pendant lights draw the eye out the wall of windows to the beautiful view below the apartment.
This family of five needed a kitchen that fit their active lifestyle. The main goal of the kitchen remodel was to create an open plan that flows into the dining room and home office. Slate tile flooring and shared cabinetry connects the kitchen and home office, which also functions as the kids' homework center.
