Warm exposed brick and ductwork and original wood ceilings are softened by a soothing green color palette in this loft space. Orange accents add just enough vibrancy. Design by HGTV Star contestant Tylor Devereaux
Warm gray paired with grass green is one of HGTV Star contestant Tylor Devereaux's go-to color combinations. He designed the entertainment console and shelving unit to balance out this home theater room.
More than 100 years ago, this space was a large furniture factory in Grand Rapids. Today the classic furniture pieces dressed in soft tones and classic black and white blend to make this living room feel warm and inviting. Design by HGTV Star contestant Tylor Devereaux

Design in Midcentury Modern Living Room Complements Exterior Views
Designers wanted this spacious, Midcentury Modern living room to fell intimate despite its large floor plan, so they carefully chose textures and fabrics that would add personality, but wouldn't overwhelm the beautiful exterior views showcased by the expansive windows. Walls are painted white to reflect the views of the outdoors, while the color is added through a few pieces of modern art and colorful, patterned throw pillows on the modern sofas.
HGTV Design Star: Midcentury Modern Living Room by Tym De Santo
Former HGTV Design Star contestant Tym De Santo created this living room with a midcentury modern take. Tym's designs have grown since his appearance on the show's first season: "Surprisingly (to me) my 'minimalist' approach to design has grown to include a warmer modern feel," he says. "I am using more texture and color to highlight my interiors, and I love it!"
Sophisticated Midcentury Modern Living Room Design Using Neutral Tones and Pattern Accents
A curtain pattern introduces a touch of yellow accent echoed by the throw pillows and gold floor lamp. A dark gray-brown sectional grounds the lighter neutral tones used throughout the room. Nailhead trim on the armchairs and subtle fabric tuft on the sectional cushions add a polished finish to the pieces.

Black bamboo floors and a custom concrete entertainment center and fireplace anchor this living space in what was once a high school classroom. Soft textures and sheer drapery balance out the space for this bachelor. Design by HGTV Star contestant Tylor Devereaux.
Tylor's camera challenge tip? Create a faux chair rail with painter's tape. The HGTV Star judges weren't wowed by this lackluster addition in the transitional living room design. Cris took a stab at creating the trio of painted canvases above the sectional.
