Transitional Master Bathroom Suite With Marble Floor
This bathroom stared out with a huge roman raised tub, orange floral wallpaper, and a dark enclosed shower. We removed the tub surround and added a free standing tub, We softened the space by adding floor to ceiling drapery behind the tub. This created privacy as well as some softness to all of the tile and hard surfaces in this room. The walls got a textured wallpaper that added some subtle color and another texture to the space. The shower was a complete overhaul and got a new window, brand new tile and a frosted glass panel for some privacy while still keeping the overall feeling open and light. The cabinets got a paint job and added casing around the mirrors to create more of a custom feel.
White, Contemporary Living Space with Bold Staircase
A contemporary, open staircase connects this 15th floor, pre-war apartment to the penthouse above. White walls and ceilings create a clean, simple backdrop, while a striking, high gloss wall of color makes a design statement and offers concealed storage behind the boldly hued panels. Colorful abstract artwork weaves a thread throughout the contemporary home.
The goals for this master bathroom? Create a clean, contemporary, timeless, and functional space. The chosen palette was black and white; the designers played with textures and proportion to liven up the room visually.
A spacious vanity with two playful mirrors that feature indigo chevron frames include gray Shaker cabinets and drawers, a rich wood countertop, and two white undermount rectangular sinks with clean, modern lines. A white resin deer head between the two mirrors adds a fun touch to the bathroom.
The owner of this bedroom wanted a tv; black wallpaper helps camouflage it. The wallpaper seams turned out to look awkward, so to hide them, the designer cleverly added thin, black molding to give the walls a paneled look.
By simply adding a book tower to one corner for keeping favorite hardcovers handy and on display, and incorporating a rolling caddy to house art and craft supplies, the space is perfectly equipped to be used for creative and work purposes any day of the week.
Contemporary gold sconces flank the slipcovered black headboard, which creates a striking contrast against the gray-and-white bedding. A sleek nightstand adds extra storage to the space, while motorized navy shades block out light.
The pool deck is partially covered by a modern aluminum trellis to connect the open outdoor kitchen and dining pavilion with the dock. The swimming pool and comfortable outdoor furniture has panorama views of the Biscayne Bay.
White Midcentury Modern Bathroom with Blue Tile Accent Wall
Fixer Upper host Joanna Gaines chose handmade tile and dry-stacked it—that is, applied it without grout in the spaces between each piece—for a dramatic new look with the quirky style her sister favors.
Enjoy the view from this elegant, rustic kitchen, with high ceilings, large windows and natural wood tones. The large, all-wooden kitchen island features a warming drawer beneath and storage around the side, with the high-end gas range nearby and rock stone backsplash.
