Traditional Staircase in Brooklyn Entryway
Decorative carving in the newel post adds detail and interest to the stairway in this Brooklyn, N.Y., entryway. Bright white trim along the hallway pulls the eye to the dining room beyond. Soft gray walls bring an updated feel to the traditional architecture.
In this stylish and contemporary space made over on HGTV's Brother Vs. Brother, gray and silver living and dining room looks sleek and elegant in this open layout space. Plush orange chairs surround the simple wooden dining table for a pop of unexpected color.
The wormy chestnut vanity in this bathroom was topped with a thick concrete top and semi-recessed sink. In order to complement the rustic farmhouse look, the designer finished the floor and three of the walls with tiles made to look like weathered lumber. Tiling to the ceiling leaves the room feeling taller than it actually is.
This family-friendly backyard deck features a rustic treehouse, an ideal spot for keeping kids busy while adults relax in a the nearby sitting area with red-orange outdoor furniture. Green trees and potted plants provide natural accents.
Neutral Living Room With Dramatic Wood Fireplace Mantel
Ornately carved wood makes this Mexican mantelpiece (found at a salvage store in Dallas) the focal point of a colorful room. Simple travertine tile and hearth keep the focus on the fireplace, and candles in one dramatic shade of red echo accents around the room.
Floor-to-ceiling tile creates a elegant, walk-in shower with handheld shower head and built-in bench. A large soaker bathtub is surrounded by gray tile, which flows down on to the floor, which is accented by small black square tiles.
Black, White and Neutral Bedroom With Lush Furnishings
Sink into this clean, comfortable bedroom at the end of a long day and you're sure to feel relaxed almost immediately. The symmetrical look of the space — matching end tables and globe lamps are situated on either side of the room — adds to the visually soothing feel. Funky pillows and a faux fur throw add a modern element to the space, and the black accent wall makes the white elements in the room pop.
A decorative backsplash gives presence to the cooktop in this opulent traditional kitchen. Niches in the detailed cabinetry provide space to display collected pottery, while decorative pendants fit with the style of the space.
Wouldn't you like to be here? Imagine kicking back on the plush white sofa (which brilliantly echoes the home's modern architecture). The airy feeling is complemented by the glass railing that enhances an uninterrupted view of the water.
Contemporary Gray Kitchen with White Stone Countertops
New recessed lighting, ceiling height cabinets in slate blue, white stone countertops and a new peninsula make for a kitchen that's both visually striking and ideally suited to the lifestyle of the new homeowners.
Neutral Color Palette with Patterned Accent Pillows in Modern Guest Bedroom
This beautiful, modern guest room has both style and function. With two closets in the space, this room has plenty of storage, while the elegant furniture adds to the style. Large windows allow lots of natural light into the space, reflecting off the white walls, making the space feel bright and clean. The elephant patterned throw pillows and the patterned bench cushions help to make the space feel warm while adding depth and texture to the space.
For this big city bachelor pad in Dallas, the designers wanted the feel to be open, airy and masculine. In the kitchen, sandy brown cabinets are livened up with the addition of a boldly patterned purple rug.
