Sunny Breakfast Room
This 100+ year old bungalow in an historical neighborhood had not been remodeled in many years. The challenge was to bring it up to date with modern conveniences without losing the cozy feel. The old sun porch was converted into a breakfast room with room to seat eight.
Sunny Southern Breakfast Room with Bold Green Patterns
Designer James Farmer insists that incorporating bold patterns like these into one's home is simply a matter of confidence. "Start with a solid base like a sofa and punch it up with patterned pillows," he advises. "Or apply pattern to the wall with a paper but hang a monochromatic piece of contemporary art atop [it]. When the same vein of color and shades are running through [a space], pattern isn't busy but coordinated."
Imagine waking up to a tasty breakfast in this comfortable and fashionable dining room, a sunny spot that offers the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of this home’s Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, location.
Breakfast Nook Features Banquette Seating, Fireplace and Sunny Sitting Area
On the other side of the kitchen in this Mediterranean style Santa Ynez Valley, Calif., home sits a breakfast nook with built-in banquette seating, a corner fireplace and a sunny sitting room with doors leading to the outside terrace.
Designer Lori Dennis paints yellow and white vertical stripes in this cozy breakfast nook to add sophistication. The cozy kitchen nook, with cushioned bench seating and chairs to match, is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This breakfast area was intended to be a casual, comfortable space for the family. The table is reclaimed wood. Yellow end chairs are sunny, cheerful and a fun pairing with the triangle-shaped light fixture.
This sunny nook becomes a high-style breakfast space with a custom sofa that fits perfectly in its corner location. White slipcover-style upholstery allows a row of colorful pillows to pop in the space, while an eclectic mix of chairs complements the home's boho chic aesthetic.
Accent pieces lend vibrant color to this sunny corner. The built-in banquette occupies one end of an open plan kitchen. Bold, yellow Eames-style dining chairs team with fun fabrics on the banquette to liven up the room's otherwise neutral palette. Wood tones bring an earthy touch that warms up the space.
