The home is divided into upper and lower levels by this short stairway in the middle of the space. Originally an entirely different room, homeowners Tze and Geoff had the extra walls removed and expanded the staircase. Tze took the opportunity for a beautiful DIY project by wallpapering the stairs in this fun pineapple pattern by Rifle Paper Co. which is only visible when heading up from the downstairs area.
Dark wood cabinets with wine racks transform the small space underneath the stairs into a full-fledged wine bar. The dining room is situated conveniently on the other side of the interior window, making dinner parties and gatherings a breeze. Stone floors and wrought ion railing add Mediterranean flair.
Country-Style Entryway and Stairs With Bold Red Front Door
A dark bench and plush throw pillows welcome visitors to this home. The red tones in the pillows tie in to the bold red front door, while artwork hanging in the adjacent stairwell adds yet more inviting color.
This traditional stair blends fine details with simple design. The natural finish accentuates the true colour of the solid wood. The stairs’ open, saw tooth style stringers show the beautiful craftsmanship of the treads.
Timbers, fashioned from locally sourced Southern yellow pine, lend rusticity to the Low Country style of this coastal home. Long overhangs protect outdoor spaces from both intense sun and rain and the entire home is built to withstand hurricanes and floods.
