Charming, Functional Kitchen Island From Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, a beautiful and functional new kitchen island looks out into the living room of this open plan main floor. Taking full advantage of the small space, Sarah packed a large sink, a second stainless steel oven and plenty of extra storage into the island's design. Two support beams, accented by gorgeous antique white corbels, are all that remain of the wall that once separated the kitchen from the living area.
A floor-to-ceiling built-in desk makes for a bold statement in bright blue. Open shelves provide much-needed storage, while an orange shade brings a striking contrast to the room. A comfortable purple desk chair adds an additional jolt of color.
Bright, Open Design in Modern, Rustic-Industrial Kitchen
Designers wanted to create a bright, open look in this kitchen, so they brought in white cabinets grounded by gray countertops. For a pop of color, they decided to paint the island a light gray color. Then, they added a Neolith marble countertop to the island which, along with black matte fixtures and an apron front sink, combines the farmhouse feel with the industrial touch.
Horseshoe hooks are a fun place to hang your hat in this country style mudroom. A basket neatly gathers various accessories and the bench is full of cheery patterns, unified by their red-and-white color palette.
Living Room Features Dramatic Rebar Fireplace, Stunning Outdoor Views
Rebar is highlighted as a design feature in this unique fireplace and repeated in other elements throughout the home. The lighting through the pattern casts dramatic shadows across the textured golden walls. The pocketing glass doors disappear at the touch of a button to create a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors.
In addition to a comfortable siting area, complete with two armchairs and a tufted ottoman, this master bedroom boasts a sewing station. Desk drawers with detailed mesh fronts speak to the built-ins nearby.
Neutral, Transitional Bath with Glass Tile Accents
A freestanding soaker tub takes advantage of the light from the window in this neutral, transitional bath. Meanwhile, frosted glass offers privacy for the spacious walk-in shower. Glass tile forms a band that runs both inside the shower and out, and its seaglass hue gives a nod to the waterfront vista outside the home's many windows.
Multicolored Eclectic Living Room With Purple Sofa
The purple sofa in this living room already belonged to the family; designers used an eclectic mix of colors and patterns throughout the rest of the room to incorporate the bold piece and make a cohesive look.
This kitchen breakfast nook is the perfect space for a quick, intimate family meal. An extension of one of the kitchen islands, this table for five increases the kitchen's functionality and creates the perfect space for the homeowners and their family.
