Rustic Laundry Room With Whitewashed Paneled Walls
To transform their dingy and outdated laundry room into a bright and modern-day utility space, design blogger Erin Loechner and her husband, Ken, renovated the entire room from top to bottom sans contractor. They added wood-paneled walls, enclosed shelves above the washer and dryer, tiled flooring, a concrete vanity countertop, custom pendants and handcrafted details, like leather cabinet pulls. Now, the space appears stylish and homespun but 100 percent functional.
To brighten the space, designers removed the interior windows and doors that surrounded the living room. White furnishings, interesting lamps and a sofa table create a light, relaxing space with great views of the bay.
Originally a guest house, this space was converted into an indoor-outdoor cabana with Carrara marble and French White Oak accents, a custom wet bar complete with a sink, refrigerator, ice machine, storage, and 20-foot-long glass doors that pocket. Green wallpaper with a Palm plant design is a showstopper.
Making good use of the available space in this large bedroom, a wall size headboard with bedside reading sconces envelopes the bed and nightstands. A rich chocolate brown with a stripe pattern, the headboard coordinates with the lighter beige bench. White linens match the white walls and an armless chair.
