Ottomans offer versatile extra seating, and a trio of side tables means guests don't have to reach far for their drinks. Planters of varying heights add bursts of color to the space's neutral palette.

These sleek containers are tall enough to hold flowers and plants and create some privacy without blocking the skyline views. The all-weather containers are placed around the modern urban rooftop terrace. The designer chose sun-, drought- and wind-tolerant plants.
The home's rooftop deck and garden to take advantage of dramatic views of the Seattle skyline. The design features a custom stone spa and heated glass covered canopy with reflection ponds and gas fire-pit.
A dramatic grade change on the site made the outdoor space non-functional and disjointed, prompting the need for more usable space. Using several terraced levels and a rooftop garden overlooking the ocean, the outdoor space was maximized for use as entertaining and relaxing nodes.
Pollinator-Friendly Terrace Has San Francisco Landmark Views
The Cloud Terrace at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase offers a nearly 180-degree view of San Francisco's top sights, including San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Landscape architect Chih-Wei G.V. Chang added purple walls lined by pollinator friendly flowers to invite hummingbirds and bees to share in the otherwise private view.

This rooftop garden features low-maintenance composite decking, a custom-built pergola with string lighting, outdoor kitchen, and gorgeous multi-level plantings. The style is English garden meets city wilds, contrasted against contemporary lines of the furniture.
