Repurposed Stump Turned End Table
Next to the armchair in the nursery, a stump has been repurposed as an end table to add character to the adventure themed space. Atop the table is a set of wooden figurines-perfect for safely allowing a little one's creativity to blossom!
You may not necessarily have an electrical spool lying around the house, but you can easily find them, and they're oftentimes free at many home improvement stores. Wooden spools are excellent for keeping the garden hose tidy outdoors; they can be cushioned and repurposed into an ottoman, or they can be turned into a flea-market style storage table.
A closer look at the end table reveals a fun find: a gold vase shaped like three hands turned down. When matched with an antique lamp, the vignette feels avant-garde and true to Los Angeles' unexpected style.
The designers cleverly turned the tail end of the large formal living room into a cozy reading nook with the addition of a sofa and oval-shaped coffee table. The ceiling lifts higher above the space, allowing for larger windows and more natural light.
Indoor/Outdoor Living Room With Exotic Wood End Table
Natural light streams in through sliding French doors in this transitional family room. A beautiful plantation-grown mango wood end table displays a vase of wildflowers and repurposed red lamp. The contemporary sectional features durable, weatherproof pillows made to endure varying temperatures in the indoor/outdoor room.
Bold Orange Accent Wall in Transitional Bedroom With Tufted Neutral Headboard and Yellow Accents
A large tufted headboard with turned corners looks beautiful against the rich color of the orange accent wall in this transitional bedroom. Patterned bed covers are accented with polka dot yellow pillows and a yellow striped throw blanket. A leather bench caps the end of the bed and matches the bed side table and small table in the adjoining sitting space.
Modern Game Room with Concrete Table Tennis Play Area
Table tennis takes a high-end, custom turn in this modern game room with a large built-in wet bar. Wire backed bar chairs surround a marble countertop, highlighted by under counter lighting. Mahogany cabinetry and shelves provide stylish storage.
This living space shows its style by turning an antique card catalog into a practical living room end table. Its long, narrow width is perfect for displaying books and medium-sized accessories. The table works well with the more contemporary furnishings of the room.
Bright Blue Library Pairs Tufted Sofa, Zebra-Print Rug
Turning right off the foyer leads guests into the owners' personal library. Wanting this space to feel carefully curated -- as though all the odds and ends were collected from travels abroad -- the designers combined a tufted sofa, traditional side table, floral armchair and a zebra-print rug. Walls painted bright blue help showcase the traditional wainscoting.
The low-profile TV that mounts flat to the wall across from the end of the bed includes a special art mode that offers the chance to turn the bedroom into an art gallery. A stylish modern red two-drawer console table with open and closed storage sits under the advanced TV.
In the living room, designers reupholstered and repurposed the the sectional sofa to add plenty of seating in the space, while a plush, black and white rug adds a touch of softness and comfort. Like in the bedroom, wispy curtains help to diffuse the afternoon sun, creating an airier feel in the space. Finally, a funky, gold end table adds a bit of functionality as well as a splash of color that helps to connect the living room space to the kitchen and dining areas, giving all of the common spaces a more cohesive design.
