I don't think I've ever been so excited to walk into someone else's kitchen. The Blehm's family kitchen is full of new and innovative ideas. The soft mint-green cabinets were the first breath of fresh air. The color, formerly only used as complimentary, has made a comeback and has been reinvented as a neutral foundation color in unexpected spaces. That refreshing color coupled with classic white counters and marble backsplash feels simultaneously both nostalgic and brand new. The island lighting is a magnificent display of creativity. Angela Blehm upgraded three simple spheres by designing a custom cage constructed from white oak. It’s a one-of-a-kind solution and an amazing focal point for the kitchen. The natural texture of the wooden cage along with the cabinet pulls, adds just enough warmth to make the family's gathering spot feel even more approachable and inviting.
Rectangle-Form: Who wouldn't love to relax around this pool? This rectangle look of this patio and pool area are an outdoor paradise. The rectangle shape gives a lot of space to work with and a modern look.
Backyard Swimming Pool With Teak Patio Lounge Chairs
Thanks to a thick wall of trees and shrubs, this swimming pool and patio enjoys complete privacy. Flagstone gives dimension to the patio and has a more natural look than concrete. Teak lounge chairs offer respite from the sun or serve as the perfect spot to tan.
After the renovation, the master bathroom in the Gubelmanns's new home feels modern, functional and spacious, blending Alex's modern sensibilities with Fiona's more vintage taste to create the hip spa retreat feel that the homeowners wanted.
White Kitchen With Gray and Yellow Window Treatment
Fabric-based window treatments are a great way to balance all the hard surfaces in the kitchen while also adding pattern and color. This custom arched shade can raise and lower to control sunlight and privacy. “Whether up or down, the shade keeps the kitchen feeling sunny with splashes of yellow from this Thom Filicia fabric, Prospect in Shadow,” says the manufacturer. Continue the look by using fabric in places like lampshades (see the shades on the wall sconces), barstools and chairs.
Kitchen With Marble Countertops and Bright Blue Island
Gorgeous white marble countertops and the stainless steel appliances contrast beautifully against the blue cabinets. This stunning island is painted bright blue and creates interest and fun in the space.
This contemporary kitchen has a large walk-in pantry built into the cabinetry for optimal hidden storage space. Just outside the pantry, a marble backsplash and sleek kitchen island complete the modern look of the space.
This kitchen alcove used to hold a washer and dryer. Designers moved both to a new laundry room and turned this space into a much-needed pantry. Painting the shelves gray is a tasteful way to dress them up.
This pool begins with an entrance near the house and includes waterfalls and a spa, visible from inside the home. Sizable plantings of Leyland cypress, cedars and palms help provide enclosure and privacy for the outside. The best part about this pool however, is the outdoor kitchen.
Making the most of every corner, a pantry is installed in the cabinet that houses the stainless steel refrigerator. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry also provides tons of much-needed storage in this kitchen, which is truly the heart of the home.
