Outdoor Christmas Lights and Holiday Inflatables
That cute inflatable snowman greeting neighbors from the front lawn can easily become a dangerous projectile if you don't follow the manufacturer's instructions for securing it, says Ken Katz, a property director for Travelers Insurance. It's best to shut off the fan blowers when it's windy, when you're not going to be home for long periods, or at bedtime, he says.
The exterior of the home was repainted in a rich ebony to lend a more sophisticated, clean look. With a dark color palette, the large angular windows and glass doors have more visual weight, especially at night. Exterior details like these sculptural sconces become that much more appealing with a dark backdrop.
This Seattle home is on a beautiful corner lot that's over 7,000 square feet. With the property comes panoramic views of the city, the water and the surrounding landscapes. And there are two rooftop viewing decks from which to enjoy them all!
The open floor plan is perfect for families and entertaining. Traditional white cabinets pair with a gray kitchen island, which mimics the color scheme in the living room furniture. The cozy breakfast area features a round table with pretty blue chairs.
After a day of hiking or skiing, the owners will love grabbing a drink from the downstairs bar. Where clean lines and open shelves help the space feel sleek and modern, bark panels from Bark House bring in some raw, natural texture. To complement the look, the designers pulled in faux-fur barstools too.
Coastal Entry Pairs Wood Details, Blue Accent Wall
Pale blue walls and warm wood floors make this entryway feel particularly calm and coastal. A blue end table topped with a shell complements the seaside aesthetic, as well as provides storage for keys and mail.
Shimmery pale gold wallpaper, a chandelier with glass globes and a light-colored wood floor match the mood of the sky-high view outside this apartment's window. The darker wood dining table and cabinet help ground the space.
This bright and airy master retreat utilizes natural materials such as the concrete bathroom floors. The white barn door added a little bit of casual detail to accompany the gold fixtures in the bathroom.
Fireplace Focal Point with Effortless Tile and a Family Heirloom Painting
To update the fireplace, designers replaced the original hearth tile with tile that feels effortless, as if it had been there forever. To make the feature special to the homeowners, it features a family heirloom painting that completes the design's natural feeling for the family.
