Orange Home Office With Stacked Tables
In this quirky home office, stacked tables and desks in varying styles serve as a unique built-in display and storage system. Designer Brian Patrick Flynn cut the tables in half, spray painted them with three different shades of orange, attached them to one another, and affixed them to the wall with drywall screws placed directly into studs. He painted the walls a terra-cotta tone called Clay Pot and chose a blue desk chair for contrast.
Historic English Country Manor with Breathtaking Views
Just moments from Montecito's lower village, this historic english country manor sits on 1.8 acres, privately hidden behind eucalyptus trees and garden hedges with breathtaking ocean and mountain vistas. Two stately iron gates lead to the estates elegant motor court and the updated home's old world facade.
Sophisticated Dining Room With Traditional Chandelier
Designer Julie Dodson's client desired a space for entertaining clients as well as guests. In the dining room, a beautiful blend of whimsical wallpaper, jet-black drapes and traditional wainscoting creates a formal environment for business or pleasure.
Elegant Bathroom With Exposed Beams and Custom Vanity
To complement the charming architectural character of this beamed-ceiling bath, Ryan Street and Associates created a pair of richly detailed custom vanities. Facing each other on opposite sides of the space, the vanities share a simple shape made luxurious with deep paneling on the doors and drawers and luxe marble countertops.
Midcentury Modern Dining and Living Areas With Wood Floors
The first floor of this beautiful home features a bright and airy design which is open, but allows many different activities to happen at the same time. There is a conversation area, a kitchen and a large table that fits the family plus guests for dinner or provides space for homework and art projects.
Living Room and View: Coastal Retreat in Gulf Stream, Fla.
Brass light fixtures add warmth to the ocean-inspired blue and white palette in the living room. The large fireplace keeps the space cozy when the temperature dips and double doors swing out to reveal the ocean view.
Chic, Open Living Room Features Strong Geometric Shapes & Assorted Seating
The open floor design of this modern living room plays heavily with geometric shapes. Wenge wrapping the walls creates the geometric idea cubes while details like the X-based coffee table and large rectilinear windows unify the design within the details. A sliding wall gives way to a pass through to the kitchen, and softer textures like a silk area rug, leather bench and linen sofas soften the space to highlight the peaceful living environment.
Matching Vanities Add Storage, Function to Bathroom
Matching single sink vanities provide ample space to get ready in this contemporary bathroom. The vibrant rug adds a pop of color to the otherwise neutral space, while the glass shower keeps things feeling open and spacious.
A layered mirror design creates a beautiful effect in this transitional bathroom. The light color palette keeps the room bright and inviting, and light fixtures are mounted to the mirror to keep the space illuminated. Stone countertops and a glass-enclosed shower complete the sophisticated design.
When designing a bathroom for a busy family of five, Wanda Ely used a wide trough-style sink that lets all three children brush their teeth at once and added clever storage solutions to store everyone’s essentials. “The clients wanted a white bathroom with Scandinavian, spa-like feel with open shelving,” says Ely. “The floating, rustic maple shelves had holes routed out of them to fit various glass and metal inserts that help hold and organize their belongings. Stainless steel inserts hold toothbrushes, glass test tubes hold flowers, glass cups hold miscellaneous items like hair elastics and cotton balls.”
Contemporary Concrete Patio With Wood Paneled Overhang
This spacious outdoor patio features a wood paneled overhang, providing a bit of shade during the day and lighting at night. Concrete steps and gravel landscaping complete the look of the area, while floor-to-ceiling glass walls and windows allow for a peek at the interior spaces, including the living and dining rooms.
This spacious eat-in kitchen features two large kitchen island areas with striped upholstered stools, as well as a small casual dining area. The exposed beam ceiling and stone accent wall add rustic flair, while glass pendant lights and a chandelier with mini lampshades provide finishing touches.
