Outdoor Kitchen With Fire Pit and Gazebo
With a desire to host year-round soirees, these homeowners traded in their old picnic tables to create a one-of-a-kind outdoor dining oasis. The space's true focal point is the wooden gazebo at the far end of the yard next to a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs and a decorative stone wall. The grilling, cooking and dining area are all in one spot, making the grill-to-table transition an easy one.
This outdoor kitchen introduces contemporary design in a natural setting. The space's grilling area is connected to a bar with ample seating. A nearby circular stone fire pit offers another gathering space.
This outdoor kitchen, featured in season 4 of DIY Network's Yard Crashers, has a stone-top table with built-in fire pit. A simple grill is attached to a countertop with sink for convenience in food prep, cooking and cleanup.
This pergola features an outdoor living area, kitchen and dining room that are tied together with natural earth tones with pops of color. The stone-veneer bar base has the look of natural stone without the high cost. A sleek fireplace in the middle of the bar adds an unexpected element.
This modern backyard is a study in geometry, with interlocking rectangles creating a series of outdoor rooms. An elevated platform on the rear of the garage creates a cozy living space with a fire pit. Meanwhile, a sleek concrete patio extends from the back of the house to accommodate an outdoor kitchen.
The wooden deck and stairs were problematic for the homeowners in terms of maintenance and also entertaining. So, it was replaced by a new stained concrete deck featuring steel railing and supporting columns to coordinate with other site elements. Designer Heather Garrett and her team increased the deck's footprint by a few feet to allow for additional seating and a convenient grilling space right off of the main living area. The new structure was designed to keep rain out of the patio below, so Garrett and her team seized the opportunity to improve the ground-level patio space by adding motorized screens, five ceiling fans, wood storage for the fire pit and an outdoor television. The aging patio slab was replaced by a new contemporary paver system and its footprint was enlarged to create more area for lounging.
