Renovated Basement Great Room With Exposed Beam Ceiling
This spacious basement great room features traditional furniture, include a brown suede sofa and neutral striped armchair and ottoman. The exposed beam filing completes the look of the space, while the nearby fitness room and bar provide additional areas for entertainment.
Though the family room is eclectic in style, the designers used orange pillows to complement the armchair and tie the space together. The wood coffee table works the same way -- it's both functional and complements the exposed beam ceiling.
Renovated Basement Great Room With Exposed Brick Wall
This spacious basement great room features an exposed red brick wall that acts as a focal point for the room's otherwise traditional decor. A natural wood entertainment center is positioned in front of the all, while a matching coffee table sits at the center of the sitting area.
This great room is perfect for large family gatherings. It features concrete flooring, a Mediterranean-style bar, and rustic ceiling beams. The upper portion of the block wall uses smaller blocks to create an impression of greater height.
A comfy sofa and fun hanging egg chair offer plenty of seating in this spacious living room as well as prime angles to view the wall-mounted TV over the fireplace. Exposed beams hug the ceiling, adding character and architectural interest.
Faux support beams make the ceiling feel lower, and the room feel cozier in this living space. Bright blue-gray walls and new wood floors give a clean modern look. A chandelier with rustic accents adds character to the space, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
Mediterranean Great Room With Vaulted Exposed Beam Ceiling
Tall ceilings create a grand appearance throughout this great room and allow for stunning features, such as the vaulted exposed beam ceiling and floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace. Brown leather armchairs and neutral sofas are paired together to allow plenty of room for relaxing.
Neutral Coastal Great Room With Exposed-Beam Ceiling
Exposed beams highlight the vaulted ceiling in this neutral coastal-style great room. An antique fish trap hangs above the bar, while nearby a small round table surrounded by chairs offers another option for dining or gaming.
"I think the family room and kitchen are a great place for the family to relax and spend time together. It's very comfortable, and the materials are hard-wearing for the kids," says designer Angelica Henry.
Transitional Living Room With Exposed Ceiling Beams
This open-concept main living area maintains an easy flow with wide, arched doorways and a unifying wood floor in the kitchen, living and dining room. Exposed ceiling beams help move the eye across the space.
Exposed dark wood ceiling beams add color to an otherwise all-white living room. A brick fireplace, tufted coffee table, oversized white sofa, and ornate framed mirror add character to the space's clean look.
Exposed Beam Accentuates Living Room Ceiling Height
To accentuate the height of the spacious living room ceilings, Chip and Joanna, of HGTV's Fixer Upper, had a beam installed. The beam also gives definition to the living room space, separating it from the entryway and adds extra warmth to this large, bright living room.
