Neutral Country Kitchen With Laundry Area
This two-in-one space features a large kitchen in conjunction with a laundry area that includes a washer and dryer. White Shaker-style cabinets evoke a traditional feel while blending with farmhouse features, like the apron-front sink and antique countertop scale.
Double sinks look out to the backyard from a large kitchen window. Honed marble backsplash in a chevron pattern runs the length of the kitchen. White upper cabinets keep the kitchen from feeling too dark.
This homeowner longed for a laundry area but didn't have space to remodel an existing room. To the rescue: designer Giana Shorthouse of Terracotta Properties, who teamed up with a local cabinetmaker to create a custom kitchen laundry and storage room. Stackable appliances sit next to a closet that has pullout drawers as well as room to iron. Metal mesh door fronts allow moisture out and air to circulate, yet blend seamlessly with the look of the cabinetry.
On this property in South Beach, a charming guest house sits adjacent to the main home. The light and friendly living area includes a petite dining table. On the back wall of the room, a chalk board is the perfect place to leave information for guests.
This white and gray kitchen features a built-in laundry area with stackable washer and dryer units that allow more room for other kitchen appliances, like the wine refrigerator. A wire bin above the dryer is perfect for stowing away laundry essentials.
Neutral Mediterranean Kitchen with Neutral Dining Area
As seen on Home Town, Ben and Erin Napier completely changed the look of the dining area in the Watts Residence renovation. The room originally had dark paneling, dark cabinets, dark doors, and even dark railing. The new paneling and doors have been painted a brighter white and the new kitchen cabinets open up the dining room to give the whole living space a fresh, open feeling.
A butcher block countertop holds up to daily use, while also serving an aesthetic purpose by adding warmth and texture. White shaker-style cabinets give this kitchen a classic look. Black barn style pendant lights hang over the kitchen island.
Pale woods and clean lines define the main living spaces of this rustic, yet contemporary Martha's Vineyard home. Details like wood beam ceilings, open kitchen shelving and barn doors on a sliding track give the space the feel of a modern farmhouse. Soft colors open it up and reflect light.
A small kitchen niche doesn't have to be used as a breakfast nook. A pair of transitional print armchairs and a white side table create a comfortable sitting area for guests to relax in style in this kitchen nook. A deep purple rug is the key to the design as it anchors the space, defining it as separate from the rest of the kitchen.
An open concept kitchen and dining area keeps a beach-inspired palette with sand-colored cabinets accented by oranges and reds. Opposite the dining table, a large glass door disappears to connect the interior with a patio and sweeping ocean vistas.
