A nature-inspired combination of cream, light olive, ice blue and pink produces a lovely and inviting living room. The ornate picture frame is the room's focal point and brings a touch of old-world charm to the space. The black lampshade and side chair provide a "pop" of strong color against the light blue walls and soft colors of the room.
Natural elements, like a petrified wood coffee table, bowl and side table, mix with contemporary details, like abstract art and simple furniture, in this open concept living room. A turquoise blue accent wall makes a bold statement.
A stone-topped table doesn’t have to always be a splurge purchase. Atlanta designer Michael Habachy says you can make your own. Take an existing table or purchase a cheap table, then add a remnant (a leftover piece of marble, granite or another type of stone that’s cheaper than a slab) to the top. “It’s a great way to take something inexpensive and make it look super luxe,” he says.
As seen on HGTV's Good Bones, the completed renovation includes this great room, adjacent to both the kitchen and new main living room, incorporating a dining area and new French doors that open onto an outdoor living space.
