Master Suite with Striped Accent Wall
HGTV's Cousins On A Call, Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri rebuild Mr. and Mrs. Galatt's master suite. They have painted the space a neutral gray, but have added stripes to the back wall to serve as a statement piece for the couple's space. They have added modern bedside tables to each side of the bed and have placed lamps on each one. Behind the lamps, the cousins have hung mirrors, which makes the space look larger. The elegant paint and accessories are joined by a stately tufted headboard and classic white linens.
Neutral Master Suite With Wood-Paneled Accent Wall
A whitewashed wood-paneled wall stands tall behind this master suite's upholstered headboard. The space's neutral palette creates an inviting, soothing atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing personal retreat.
Master Bedroom With Black & White Striped Accent Wall
A black and white striped accent wall sets the tone for this master bedroom. A four poster bed with bubble-like posts adds to the contemporary design. Simple white linens and black faux fur pillows complete the monochromatic look.
Modern Master Suite With Lake Views, Wood Accent Wall
As far as master bedrooms go, this one is a serious stunner. Vaulted ceilings and sleek glass windows open the space up, while an upholstered platform bed becomes the perfect spot to relax. Notice, too, how the tree branch-inspired light fixture and reclaimed wood accent wall bring the outdoors inside.
The idea for this funky wall was a collaborative effort from the HGTV Smart Home 2014 design team. "We wanted to really go crazy behind the headboard," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. Painting boards in complementary hues highlights the bed and creates an eye-catching focal point.
Of the five beautiful bedrooms in the house, this master suite is easily the most impressive. Here, a shimmering wall treatment catches the natural light, while a canopy bed encourages the owners to relax in style.
Exposed brick works overtime in the master bedroom, both adding raw texture to the space and giving the room a sense of history. A small brick fireplace complements the walls and keeps the suite cozy, too.
Traditional Neutral Master Suite With Brown Accents
HGTV fan EastTN2 converted their seldom-used attic into a sprawling master suite complete with a spa-like bathroom, entertainment lounge and bedroom proper. The suite's three areas are clearly defined yet still feel connected, courtesy of partial wall dividers like the floor-to-ceiling draperies separating the bedroom from the rest of the suite.
Rustic Industrial Master Suite with Wood Accent Wall Earth Tone Details
The reclaimed wood accent wall in this master bedroom creates a focal point for the space, while setting the tone. To add style and design, the wall sconces, which are on a pulley system to allow the homeowners to adjust the lamps to their desired height, and overhead chandelier break the traditional approach of bedside lamps and a ceiling fan, providing a romantic, yet functional, feel to the space, while the white bedding, airy curtains, microfiber rug and earth tones infuse the room with softness.
A rustic nightstand serves as a display surface for a vintage industrial lamp and reading materials in the guest bedroom of HGTV Smart Home 2014. Behind the bed, a striped accent wall was created by painting boards with various complementary hues.
This spacious kitchen uses patterns and textures to add visual interest to its neutral palette: a small-scale chevron stripe covers the back wall, lively without being overwhelming. Overhead, thick, rustic beams help move the eye across the room.
In the master bedroom suite, the designer wanted to strike a balance between hip and serene. She used black, white and gray and mixed textiles for visual interest. In this bathroom, the star attraction is the geometric accent wall behind the tub.
