Lush Victorian Living Room
In Hilary's design for this formal living room, as seen on HGTV's hit show Love It or List It, she brings in lots of patterns and textures to give the room a unique and complex look. The design takes advantage of old world luxury in pieces such as the chandelier hanging from the ceiling, the complex mantelpiece, the Victorian wingback furniture, and the intricate cabinetry. She then blends a mixture of patterns like stripes and paisley together for a completed look.
Original period fixtures and detailed craftsmanship bring grandeur and charm to the living room. One of the home's two fireplaces resides in the center of the space, surrounded by a beautifully carved mantel.
A Victorian house gets an interior update by way of this stylish living room. A blue-and-white fireplace surround adds color, built-ins provide storage and display space, and an eye-catching onion pendant light from Design Within Reach serves as a focal point. The colors in this space make it vibrant and interesting.

This formal living room is designed for entertaining in style. A gold love seat and burgundy damask wingback chairs surround an oval coffee table to create an intimate seating area. The lavish window treatments and chandelier play up the drama in the Victorian-inspired room.
Contemporary Living Room in New Orleans Victorian Home
Layers of textures and colors through sofa pillows creates a cozy, feminine space in this contemporary living room. Two large pieces of artwork anchor the pretty, neutral sofa that sits against the wall. An eclectic vignette on the coffee table ties the muted colors of the room together.
Victorian Living Room With Red Sofas and Sparkling Chandelier
Two plush red sofas face each other in this luxurious living room divided by a tri-cut mirrored coffee table. A large dark-stained wood mirror over the fireplace breaks up the tan patterned wallpaper and white molding on the walls. Each sofa is covered with red and gold accent pillows while a crystal chandelier and traditional sconce lights give added elegance to the space.
Victorian Architecture Meets Contemporary Styling in an Elegant Living Room
This room screams traditional style with its raised-panel walls, crown molding, high ceiling and ornate chandelier. But the floral plates hung on the wall, blue settees and matching chesterfield sofas give the space a fun contemporary twist.
