This outdoor dining area showcases a coastal aesthetic that's open and inviting. The adjacent outdoor kitchen was built from four inches of masonry block on a poured concrete slab to keep appliances tucked away.
Modern Bathroom With Iridescent Tile Walls and Glass Vanity
This guest bathroom created a big concern due to the small space HGTV Star contestant Crisermy Mercado had to work with. Using a narrow glass and stainless steel vanity not only provides more space to enter the shower, but it also makes the space feel larger by not having a bulky furniture piece blocking the pathway.
To give the outdoor dining area a coastal touch, the designers layered the reclaimed wood table with plates and linens in warm tones, like teal and coral. Starfish accents and a seahorse centerpiece further evoke thoughts of the beach.
Throughout this home, designers aimed for a look that was farmhouse friendly, but more polished than rustic. The open plan kitchen uses shades of blue to contrast the white and wood elements: navy barstools and a custom gray-blue for the pendants.
Modern Outdoor Living Room With White Paper Lanterns
For a multifunctional outdoor living room that would serve as a family gathering space and a meeting area for the owners’ clients and colleagues, landscape architect Mark Tessier created an accordingly varied lighting scheme. Traditional outdoor lighting illuminates the area without making a statement, while style enters from above and below, via a flickering fire pit and paper lanterns of various sizes hung randomly throughout the space. “After dusk, these lights cast a warm, inviting glow festive for simple or elegant gatherings any time of the year,” says Tessier.
Chic White Bathroom with Red Chair and Sleek Cabinets
Keep it simple. By using a modest color palette with just a pop of color from the red chair, this bathroom demonstrates simple elegance in a small area. If possible, avoid buying window treatments to create an illusion of more space. “A minimalist look eases the budget,” says Stephanie Andrews of Atlanta-based Balance Design.
Modern art and lighting bring touches of fun to an already entertaining space. This contemporary home features earth tones throughout punctuated by bold hits of blue, including the draperies in this game room. Foosball, ping-pong and more turn the room into a great hangout for the whole family.
Rich shades of brown pair with creamy white and soft beige for a warm, inviting atmosphere in this contemporary bedroom. A custom headboard extends out to create built-in shelving on either side of the bed.
