A designer's work is never actually done. For most designers there is always a little something extra that could be done to take our designs to the next level. However, the only thing I could find to do in the Blehm's master sitting area was to adjust the lampshade because the room and its views were flawlessly picturesque. In this space, Angela used one of my favorite hospitality-inspired design tricks. She concealed the drapery hardware behind the crown moulding, thereby creating a clean and elevated look. The moulding becomes the cornice and the pleated linen drapery opens to expose the outdoors like a movie screen. How's that for drama?! My number one pick in this image is the upholstered bench. It manages to be retro, mod, and current all at the same time. Angela's is fearless in her use of white furniture and rugs throughout the family home. She's proof that it can be done, not to mention, done with her three young children and pets!
The family wanted a stylish outdoor dining room, so designers created this space with seating for six. To help the space function as part of the home's entertainment space, designers included multiple points of entry from the interior spaces to the home's exterior entertaining areas.
Rustic Light Green Bathroom With Gray Stone Fireplace
This spacious master bedroom bathroom features a drop-in bathtub positioned immediately in front of a floor-to-ceiling gray stone fireplace. Large windows provide a mountain view, while a glass door allows for outdoor patio access. Light gray tiles cover the floor and perimeter of the bathtub.
A wood platform bed serves as the focal point of this tranquil Asian-style bedroom. A silver planter with large bamboo stalks and a gold Buddha statue flank the windows with floor-length neutral drapes and mounted pendant lamps. A frosted glass door and neutral bench complete the room.
Wood beams, an ornate four-poster bed, rustic chandelier, and arched wall decor exude old-world elegance in this master bedroom from designer Thomas Oppelt. The large, patterned area rug frames the space.
Opulence and finery is on display in this cream and blue bedroom, which features a teardrop crystal chandelier, heavy drapes and a velvet chaise. The ceiling's pale blue hue and white molding top off the elegant design. A wall of windows and a claw-foot antique bed with heavy blue and beige bed linens adds to the luxurious feel.
This heavily carved four poster bed with mosquito netting drapes takes you to the tropics. The bed and nightstands are mahogany and ornately carved to reflect the colonial influences in Caribbean decor. Soft gray walls lighten the heavy furniture.
Four cream-colored window panels are separately pulled open, letting in sunlight that illuminates a dazzling red and white bedroom. A white bench window seat is decorated with a pair of red and pink pillows, while fuchsia-flocked damask wall covering completes the elegant look.
Country-Style Bedroom With Brass Bed and Red Accents
Adorned with lively patterns and an energetic color palette, the north bedroom of designer Sarah Richardson's farmhouse pops with personality. Sarah combined red paisley and polka dots to create an eclectic look, but kept the space cohesive with a brass bed and brass accents throughout.
Eclectic Master Suite With Wing Back Headboard and Unique Furnishings
This richly textured master suite features jungle themed prints and luxe patterned furniture. A tall brown and blue upholstered bed is the focal point of the space, ensuring the room's status as a relaxing retreat.
Floral Wallpaper Accent Wall in Neutral Master Bedroom
Modern yet warm and feminine, this space features whimsical floral wallpaper that distracts from the window creeping into headboard wall. The spherical chandelier continues the fanciful theme. To allow for more storage and keep the space streamlined, custom-designed bedside tables float on the wall.
