Contemporary-style sofas, upholstered in durable Sunbrella fabric, feature aluminum frames and synthetic wicker bases — both recyclable. Two cube-shaped, industrial-style coffee tables were handcrafted from sustainable wood by carpenter David Brown. The yellow chairs provide a nice contrast against the black and white patterned pillows and add pops of color against the brick floor and accent landscaping wall.
In keeping with this home’s prairie style, plants and shrubs that complement the vertical design were chosen to landscape the front of this home. Large brown planters hold tall tall trees leading up to the front door.
The "treehouse feel" of the HGTV Dream Home 2011 is especially evident in this room with its abundance of wood and autumn-inspired colors. Floor-to-ceiling windows and maple flooring lend an air of the outdoors, while modern furniture and a steel wall sculpture make it a comfortable and lively space for entertaining.

A warm, fall-inspired color palette of red, orange, chocolate and golden yellow brighten the living room of HGTV Dream Home 2011 during bleak winter months. Birch panels adorn the glass fireplace and complement the maple flooring.
To promote a feeling of unity between the indoor and outdoor spaces, interior designer Linda Woodrum chose a neutral, controlled palette for the HGTV Green Home 2012 living room. Furnishings, though captivating, do not distract from the view. A mix of styles and textures like the rustic wood coffee table, shag rug and contemporary wingback armchairs keeps the space feeling cozy and fresh.
