With vertical shiplap cladding the walls and sunlight pouring in the through the skylights the space ran the risk of feeling cold and sterile but aged wood floors set in a herringbone pattern remedied the situation. The reclaimed wood was salvaged from a 100- year old factory by a company called Authentic Reclaimed located in Georgia and add an old-world charm to the flexible studio.
The Property Brothers completely renovated the kitchen, giving it a new layout and appliances. The addition of a gray subway tile backsplash arranged in a herringbone pattern gives the space a one-of-a-kind element.
This kitchen features plenty of stunning design details throughout, like the unique herringbone wooden pantry door with brass pull handle. The space combines a classic gray and white color palette with modern patterns as seen on the hardwood floor.
"Existing in this condo was this strange alcove adjacent to the dining room," said designer Debbie Perez. "Knowing our clients love eclectic, reclaimed and funky things, we designed a custom dry bar to look like it was made from salvaged metal and old drawer pulls."
For tailored panache, the doors of the closets in this bedroom were finished with a brown tweed pattern. A dresser and mirror tucked between them lets occupants do a quick once over before heading out for the day.
