Guest Bathroom With Vanity Storage
In a guest bathroom, designer Alisa Hoffman took a creative approach to the design of the vanity. “By ‘floating’ the vanity cabinet we were able to open the space and light it from below which gives the illusion of expanding the room as the floor tile continues underneath the vanity, all the way to the wall,” says Hoffman. She designed the cabinetry with open storage for extra towels, baskets for toilet tissue and a space to sit down. “It’s reminiscent of being in a spa, an experience from which everyone leaves refreshed,” she says.
In this guest bathroom in the HGTV Dream Home 2013, two simple iron sconces illuminate the vanity top, clad in natural quartz. Nickel-plated knobs lend a touch of shimmer, and a bouquet of white cymbidium orchids with tacca leaves provide a subtle nod to island decor.
For the bathroom of a designer showhouse, architect Gregg De Meza designed a vanity with a sophisticated modern exterior and sunny yellow interior. “The storage was designed with form and function in mind,” he says. “To keep a clean modern aesthetic, the vanity front is clean and simple. Pull it open for toiletries and get a bonus hit of sunshine to kick off the day.”
In order to make this bathroom feel like part of the new design, the vanity and plumbing is replaced. The hammered metal vanity top is paired with a bronze faucet and mirror. The open lower section of the vanity offers a place to add rich woven baskets for storing extra towels, soap and other amenities for overnight guests.
To add some variation to the guest bath, the designers chose a chartreuse green tile color for the shower space and paint color for the sink room. For some warmth and age, barn board was used on the ceiling, and a local maker built the cart that serves as the vanity.
A pop of light turquoise coordinates so well with the chartreuse. Above the faucets are bypassing medicine cabinets that also have electrical in them, hiding toiletries and adding more storage.
A floating vanity built from bamboo is one of several sleek, contemporary elements in this California guest bathroom. Gray tile on the floors, walls and tub surround is set off by serene and cheerful Caribbean-blue walls. A glass door encloses the shower and visually expands the small space.
In a guest bathroom, simple, ready-made elements create a classic design. Subway tiles have a sophisticated bevel; the marble countertop, basketweave tile and shower curb tie the space together. Beadboard pairs with cottage details on the sconce and medicine cabinet to make the space feel cozy.
Storage in a contemporary bathroom is often a challenge. The furniture in the new Cape Cod bathroom series by Philippe Stark and Duravit includes this sleek vanity with concealed storage behind doors and open shelves on the side, so you have a stylish way to keep what you need close at hand.
Transitional Guest Bathroom Includes Sleek White Vanity
From this side of the bathroom, guests can see the full size of that sleek white vanity. A low-level shelf keeps extra towels on hand, while a stall shower waits at the ready once guests decide to retire for the evening.
Southwestern-Style Guest Bathroom With Clay Vanity
Wanting the guest bathroom to look cohesive with the rest of the house, the designers outfitted the space with a textured mirror, a clay-topped vanity and artful accents. Two iron sconces, as well as a light fixture overhead, keep the space bright for morning and evening routines.
Soft gray walls, marble flooring and a furniture-style vanity create an elegant spot for guests to freshen up. Instead of designing an expensive custom cabinet for the space, Heather Scott Home & Design attaches a Silestone countertop remnant to a furniture piece.
Contemporary Master Bathroom Vanity With Storage Tower
This spacious double vanity bathroom includes a dark brown wooden vanity with a convenient storage tower that separates the two sink areas. A three-light fixture hangs above each of the round mirrors, while neutral granite countertops complete the look of the space.
