Fixer Upper Hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines decided to bring in wooden support beams for a decorative touch, making the ceilings appear lower and the living room feel cozier. Joanna staged the room with furniture and accessories of natural wood, metal and worn leather. The vintage letters as wall art are one of her signature pieces.
Gorgeous wooden ceiling beams give this white living area a rustic vibe. Industrial-style metal chairs sit at a basic wood and metal table, while a low coffee table and entryway table continue the wood and metal mix.
Neutral Contemporary Great Room With Rustic Ceiling Beams
Black framed French doors and windows open up to the porch and pool area while also providing great views of the horizon. Rough-hewn ceiling beams and doorframes bring texture and rustic detail to this contemporary space.
"I think the family room and kitchen are a great place for the family to relax and spend time together. It's very comfortable, and the materials are hard-wearing for the kids," says designer Angelica Henry.
One of three rooms with a fireplace inside this La Jolla estate, this one features a hand-painted ceiling and exposed wooden beams. Two white armchairs and a gray velvet, tufted sofa sit atop a large area rug with views to the spiral staircase leading to the second level.
Rustic Cabin Living Room with Soaring Beamed Ceiling
A wide-open living room features soaring dimensions, sturdy cross beams and a stacked stone fireplace that rises to the peaked ceiling, driving home the log cabin ambiance of this Wyoming vacation retreat. The project was a cabin retreat for the owners and their siblings and extended families in Jackson Hole. A rustic, wood-sheathed entryway and wagon wheel chandelier mix with clean-lined furnishings for an updated, yet rusticated feel.
Though the family room is eclectic in style, the designers used orange pillows to complement the armchair and tie the space together. The wood coffee table works the same way -- it's both functional and complements the exposed beam ceiling.
Rustic Living Room With Beamed Ceiling and Antler Chandelier
Inspired by the horse painting on the wall, this rustic living room keeps it light and airy. The light-colored couch adds plenty of seating and, along with the handmade shag rug, anchors the room. An antler chandelier adds another rustic touch that complements the exposed ceiling beams. A stone wall around the fireplace adds texture against the surrounding white walls.
Rustic Light Green Living Room With Exposed Beam Ceiling
This spacious living room features large windows that highlight the surrounding mountain view, as well as a vaulted exposed beam ceiling that gives the space a larger appearance. A floor-to-ceiling gray stone fireplace offers a cozy vibe, while a brown leather sofa offers a cody place for relaxing.
This great room is perfect for large family gatherings. It features concrete flooring, a Mediterranean-style bar, and rustic ceiling beams. The upper portion of the block wall uses smaller blocks to create an impression of greater height.
Natural wood beams and exposed architectural details turn this wide-open living space into a rustic-chic haven. Woven textures and pale upholstered furnishings lend the room casual elegance. Industrial-style pendants provide light throughout the space.
