French Country Kitchen With Stone-Topped Island
Ceiling beams made from reclaimed wood and a stone-framed door hint at French chateau style. An island with over-sized turned legs visually grounds the large room while cobblestone framing around the door add a classic cottage-style touch to the space.
This elegant country kitchen is good for more than cooking and eating. In order to separate the food space from the work space, the kitchen island was divided into part Carrera marble and part reclaimed mesquite wood.
The owner of this house was anxious for a space in which she could entertain, so an open concept kitchen was a must. While the kitchen design left her with an open feel, the homeowner needed more space to prepare food, so an oversized island with a prep sink was built in the middle of the space. The island has a breakfast bar which provides extra seating and a perfect place to entertain.
Yellow cabinets disguise the refrigerator and set the tone in this French Country kitchen. A heavy wood island anchors the kitchen in Old World style, while a stone floor unites it with the adjacent dining space.
The green stone-topped kitchen island brings a punch of pizazz to this French country kitchen. A classic white desk area sits cozily in front of a quaint window, while the adjacent stainless refrigerator gives the space an updated feel.
This open kitchen is great for entertaining friends and family around the oversized island. Topped with a buttery wood countertop for meal prep, the distressed blue base is characteristically French country in style.
Pink and beige toile wallpaper serves as a feminine background for an intricate cooktop area. A gold backsplash is surrounded by a detailed white range hood while a sparkling crystal chandelier hangs from a beautiful white coffered ceiling. Quaint ladder-back barstools with cushions provide convenient seating in this elaborate kitchen.
