Midcentury Modern Dining Room With Glass-Topped Dining Table
This Midcentury Modern dining room features a custom, 130-inch glass top dining table that is supported by three acrylic and brass bases and seats twelve in black, mohair dining chairs. On the ceiling, designers installed a set of suspended chrome and glass balls that are used as a modern light fixture and complement the silver metallic cork wallpaper that offers rich texture to the open dining room.

Eclectic-Midcentury Modern Dining Room with Unique Table
In this space, a large, glass-topped table with seating for six creates a functional dining space for the family and their guests. To keep the eclectic feel alive in the space, designers chose a table whose base is part of a tree trunk to give the design a bit of additional personality.
An easy way to show off colorful dining chairs is to pair them with a glass-top table. Here, a midcentury modern chrome and glass table is encircled by retro diner chairs in a playful lattice-inspired design. In this dining room makeover, designer Ashley DeLapp's initial plan was to use a banquette with a long oval table for dining room seating, but she realized it wasn’t the best solution since it wouldn’t allow room for a storage piece. The designer instead chose the Platner table because it was round –– allowing for an easier flow in the small space –– and fitting for the midcentury-modern theme.
Designers brought the Midcentury Modern look to life in this newly redesigned home with a Broyhill Brasilia dining table and a custom banquette covered in gray tweed. The modern dining chairs were repurposed and recovered, with three of them coming to rest around the dining table and the fourth finding its home under the newly commissioned painting of Alexander Hamilton by Mike Johnson. To complete the space, designers hung a cubist light fixture and had a local artist custom paint the walls to put the finishing touches on the Midcentury Modern dining room.
Designer David Bromstad gives this small dining area a funky new vibe with artwork he painted himself, a modern aluminum chandelier and a moody, blue-green wall color. The homeowners' existing dining set is right at home in the new space.
