Contemporary/Coastal Kid's Bedroom With Wall-Papered Ceiling
This design of this kid's bedroom demonstrates the finesse of Jackson Paige Interiors, as they incorporate the overall contemporary, coastal theme of the home but with a fun and free-wheeling approach. The contemporary bunk bed with shelves anchors the decor and allows the more eclectic elements--wallpaper, striped wall, light fixture and built-in daybed--to show their charm.
The accent wall in this dining space is composed of reclaimed wood from a local barn from the 1920s. The wall ties the dining room into the rest of the home where barn wood can be seen as shelving. A cool light fixture above the dining table gives the room an eclectic edge.
The custom shelving unit delineates the dining room from the living room while providing storage space on both ends. Pale gray walls are offset by warm and lively accents across the room – a coral armchair, an electric fireplace and a potted fern – creating a cozy and eclectic whole.
As seen on Cousins on Call, this open floor plan lower level houses a kitchen, dining area, and living room for the family. John and Anthony have taken a more modern space and have added funkier details to fit the family's eclectic style. The unique detail above the dining table adds character and bohemian charm, while the wall behind the television, with its natural wood and open shelving, gives a nod to the Asian style. Plush furniture and myriad patterns help to bring out the eclectic feeling of the design.
This eclectic bathroom makes use of natural elements, modern design and Asian inspiration. The natural stone tile on the floors and walls of the shower as well as the natural wood of the cabinets reflect the raw natural beauty of the outdoors that is brought in through the overhead windows in the shower. The modern design of the cabinets keep the space clean and organized, while the open shelving on the caps of each vanity give the additional storage a spa feel.
Decatur is known for its distinct, historic neighborhoods, eclectic food, and vibrant downtown: it is not known for log cabins. My clients are the owners of this unlikely urban retreat and wanted to design a space that provided a TV-free zone to read, relax, eat, and play games as a family. This little reading nook is my favorite vignette. It is my client's favorite spot in the house. She has her morning coffee there daily. The chair was hers but the shelves were added to have storage and interest go up the wall and showcase their family pictures and items I sourced in flea markets all over Atlanta! The pouf and blanket were "must haves" from the very beginning.
