Durable Design Details From Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, a cramped and dirty basement was transformed into an open, functional space for a growing family of four. Keeping her clients' two young boys in mind, Sarah chose durable design details such as hard-wearing wood paneling, slate tile floors and thick-fiber curtains that will withstand years of use.
Ceiling beams made from reclaimed wood and a stone-framed door hint at French chateau style. An island with over-sized turned legs visually grounds the large room while cobblestone framing around the door add a classic cottage-style touch to the space.
Canary yellow paint covers the walls and the sloping ceiling in this contemporary New Jersey sunroom. Boxy woven seating echoes the lines in the modern area rug, while pillows in bold chartreuse and graphic patterns give the space additional punch.
Contemporary Dining Room With Striped Lacquered Table
A show-stopping table in lacquered stripes of red, silver, black and white creates a fun spot for a dinner party and a dramatic focal point in this New Jersey dining room. Eight Parsons chairs seem to float beside the table on acrylic legs.
Soft hues of beige, brown and orange stir a Mediterranean feel in this luxurious outdoor kitchen. A vaulted ceiling gives the feeling of additional space in this open-air room. A bar with granite counters and built-in grill creates a perfect entertaining spot adjacent to the cozy sitting area with a fireplace.
The tasteful choices making this patio comfortable could be equally at home at a beachfront Mexican hacienda. There's a trio of hammered metal coffee tables, a pom-pom trimmed throw and, for a dose of color, a bold and sculptural snake plant.
Graphic green wallpaper, wood ceiling and black furnishings complete this eclectic home office. A speckled area rug, green velvet desk chair and a mix of art add visual interest and personality to the space.
Magnificent cherry wood architectural paneling and detailing are the signature elements in this two-story library and home office. The wool area rug and comfortable leather seating anchors this room and the custom spiral staircase leads one up to the second-floor home office, which is off the master bedroom. The original oil painting is illuminated by the picture light above to call attention to it in the evening.
