Glass Hardware Dresses Up Cabinet Doors
“Designed for wine lovers who enjoy entertaining often, this wet bar was installed in the dining room where they host dinner parties, holiday meals and entertain most of the time,” says designer Nathan J. Reynolds. “Next to the kitchen, it’s a convenient place for additional counter space for mixing drinks, plating desserts, or serving coffee and after-dinner drinks.” The design includes a Kohler sink, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer drawers, and a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator. “Glass cabinets above the wet bar distinguish it from the rest of the workspace and showcase handsome glassware and collectibles,” he adds.
This transitional bedroom combines pale gray and cream for a sophisticated color palette. White window trim and graphic headboards give the look a crisp edge. The x-base stools and textured nightstands add character to the design without overpowering the look.
The classic four-poster bed is flanked by traditional white nightstands topped with bold blue lamps. A gathered window valance features a small-scale polka dot pattern that is repeated throughout the room.
Weathered white beams serve the neat trick of guiding the eye along the length of this open concept dining room down to a small music area with a piano. The red rug beneath the dining table helps define that space in the open layout.
A platform bed anchors the far side of the room, with two midcentury nightstands offering a place for books. Overhead, two yellow sconces complement the armchairs in the corner and so tie the space together.
A stylish spiral staircase provides access from the first floor great room sitting area to the upper gallery where the majority of the room's books are kept. The gallery allows the space to maintain its grand feel-true to its original intent, while the contemporary-chic design of the space helps to bring the room into the 21st Century.
Rustic Modern Kitchen And Dining Room With Midcentury Modern Furnishings
Pewter gray cabinets and stainless steel appliances serve as a handsome foil to this open plan kitchen and dining area's redwood ceiling. Reconfiguring the layout in the lakefront cabin allowed designers to show off views and make interiors feel lighter and more airy.
A small courtyard separates the driveway from the garden, with a circular entry that exudes serenity. Stone paths guide visitors around various trees and plants, with rocks along the way for sitting and reflecting.
