Rustic Loft Guest Bedroom with Dormer Window
This rustic loft guest bedroom features a wrought iron and reclaimed wood bed with southwestern print linens, knotty pine paneled ceiling and walls, and a dormer window that is utilized as a cozy reading nook.
To bring an interesting focal point to the guest bedroom, Pineapple House designers made a window seat and/or daybed in an oversized dormer window. The windows were so high that steps were added for access to the perch. Panels across the bottom of the built-in are created via thumbtacks into the upholstered base.
A pink bench and pillows lend a playful, modern touch to this rustic guest bedroom. Textured walls, earthy-colored window treatments and an exposed wooden beam along the ceiling add warmth to the space.
A charming guest bedroom (the house has four bedrooms in all) includes two double beds and plenty of natural light thanks to the vaulted ceiling and clerestory windows. Exposed stone walls and unfinished wood beams maintain the rustic character of the home.
One of the bedrooms in this farmhouse guest house has a pair of twin beds dressed in warm quilts, equestrian-themed throws and pillows. Simple neutral Roman shades soften the windows and block out light. At the end of the bed is a rustic stool, perfect for storing an overnight bag.
With great window views and a little extra head space, any guest is sure to enjoy this lofted bedroom. The reclaimed wood floors add elements of pattern and texture opposite the white shiplap ceiling mimicking the floor’s pattern. Having a second option for a private space in one tiny home is a huge asset for families.
Atlanta Townhome Draws Design Inspiration From Urban NYC Style
Homeowner Chad Alford had always wanted to live in a New York City loft, so his partner Tomas Frenes designed their townhome in Atlanta's Cabbagetown neighborhood to look like urban buildings. Custom sliding doors with smoked glass conceal the lower level office and guest room and upper level master bedroom and are designed to look like industrial windows, while exposed ductwork, a modern light fixture and spiral staircase add to the urban feel.
