Convenient Queen-Sized Bunk Beds With Shiplap Paneling
For accommodating kids and guests, Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaines devised a new bunk room with four queen-sized bunk beds. The bunk beds feature gray and white striped linens, stained shiplap paneling, iron railings and integrated stairs. The stairs are painted white with natural wood treads.
If you have an area where turf is thin or just won’t grow, swap it for some easy-care ornamental grasses and sedges. These plants bring texture and year-long interest to any yard, and their care routine is beyond simple. An annual trim keeps most grasses in check, while sedges need very little annual grooming. A quick brush in early to mid-spring with gloved hands is usually enough to pull out dead stems and trigger new growth.
Designer Sarah Stacey adds an unexpected touch to this contemporary, bohemian living room by hanging a multicolored rug on the wall. The piece makes an easy focal point to the room and accents the simple blue sofa.
A trio of oversized pendant lights make a statement without taking up any visual space in this cottage-inspired kitchen. The expansive kitchen island is designed for the whole family to gather around with industrial-style barstools. Blue trimwork and cabinets reflect the surrounding lake views.
This remodeled kitchen, featured on HGTV's original series, Brother Vs. Brother, includes a large cream-colored island that is paired elegantly with rattan and wood barstools. Red and yellow accents are a bright contrast to the otherwise neutral decor.
Vibrant hues create a playful and bright bedroom for this seaside escape. Striped curtains dress the window, where a built-in seat is the perfect spot to read a book and gaze out at the beach. A bold pink bench contrasts against the cool blue of the bedding and walls.
Adding just a few brighter accessories like gold and ice blue pillows, cream chairs and a white rug significantly lightens this room up. Going for a fresh, lighter look in your living room? Pay attention to wall color, curtains, rugs and mix neutrals and darks with brighter colors.
Natural Wood Country Kitchen With Built In Dining Room and Industrial Track Lighting
The large eat-in kitchen is efficiently laid out and balanced with cabinets on either end and plenty of storage options. The French doors are updated and the walls throughout are covered in dark-stained shiplap. Track lighting outlines the rectangular shape of the dining set up with built in bench seating.
Marble floors flow seamlessly into the marble walls, creating a cohesive design that is sophisticated and traditional. A glass door opens up to the walk-in shower area, which features a large soaker bathtub, open shelving and rainfall showerhead.
