Contemporary Neutral Brick Home Exterior Gray Trim
The home's original door, with unique crescent-moon window, was retained but given a new finish with a pleasing gold stain that permits the wood grain to show. Charcoal gray trim and new custom metal railing offer tastefully subtle touches that make the house stand out.
Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines opened the porch back up, bringing back a more classic and elegant look to the exterior. Though they opted to keep the original brick and not paint the exterior, new stucco and contrasting gray trim highlight the home's traditional Tudor style.
This historic Alexandria home features a gray brick exterior with black shutters and white trim. The red brick sidewalk leads to the semi-detached home with double front doors in black. Inside, the home features more than 2,000 square feet of open and airy spaces with three bedrooms, two baths and a private balcony.
Enchanting Backyard View With Pond, Brick Patio and Black Wicker Furniture
A textured beige exterior finish and slightly darker neutral trim create a sophisticated and timeless look for this home. A long brick patio features black wicker furniture forming an outdoor living room set up. A pond and mulched garden area give an enchanting quality to the backyard.
Black paint with charcoal trim adds drama and transforms the exterior of this contemporary home built in 1974, previously painted a neutral tan brown color. “To make sure the house fit in with the really nice modern homes up in this part of the country, we wanted to go with a black exterior,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

Black framework creates a beautiful contemporary look over the neutral stucco and brick of this home exterior. A spacious and relaxing balcony acts as a cover over the ground level porch creating open and covered outdoor sitting space. A line of shrubbery borders the sidewalk to mark the home perimeter.
Orange and Gray Family Room is Functional, Stylish
The craftsman-style home featured orange-tone Douglas fir trimwork, yet the homeowner wanted a contemporary, neutral style. Embracing both worlds, the family recreation room pulls the orange hue from the trim and brings it into a sleek leather sectional. The built-ins are painted a cool gray and provide plenty of open and hidden storage. A bold yet neutral area rug grounds the space and ties all the colors together.
