Contemporary Backyard with Outdoor Kitchen and Grill
Preparing food outside is half the fun of having a yard. When you're designing your outdoor kitchen, think big: "Everything in the outdoor kitchen is big, from beverage centers to warming doors, through-the-counter trash chutes, griddles for pancakes for brunch, wok plates, smokers, rotisseries," says landscape artist Scott Cohen of The Green Scene in Canoga Park, Calif. Also, "make sure that the host doesn't have his back to the guests when he's cooking," he says.
Contemporary Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen With Grill
This covered outdoor kitchen area offers a stainless steel grill and custom countertop that turns the corner without blocking the view. A small refrigerator and storage drawers make outdoor cooking and entertaining a cinch.
Neutral brick and barn-like cabinet doors create the perfect foundation for a country design in this outdoor kitchen. A polished wood covering adds contrast against the natural textures. A hanging fan keeps the space cool on hot summer nights, and recessed lighting illuminates the space at night.
Contemporary Backyard With Outdoor Kitchen and Pool
An outdoor kitchen and dining area are connected to a pool to make this backyard the perfect place to entertain on warm days, while an outdoor fireplace provides a toasty seating area for chillier nights.
Mediterranean Outdoor Kitchen With Stainless Grill
This outdoor kitchen rivals the grandest indoor ones with its chef-grade cooktop grill, oven, fridge and more. Mediterranean tiles add pretty color and a wood ceiling keeps the space safe from weather.
The HGTV Smart Home 2013 has an outdoor kitchen with an impressive stainless steel grill. A narrow bar lines the perimeter, perfect for passing off serving dishes to the outdoor dining space. The painted ceiling and metal light fixture play into the coastal aesthetic of the main house.
The stainless steel appliances coupled with the warm, neutral stone bar create a stark contrast. The kitchen includes a grill, side burner, warming drawer and refrigerator, creating the ultimate kitchen for entertaining.
For this barbeque countertop, designer Scott Cohen of The Green Scene had it hand-seeded with a variety of colored glass. The countertop comes alive at night when fiber-optic cables attached to glass pieces throughout create a glittering, glowing effect.
