Classic Midcentury Modern Home With White Walls and Modern Fireplace
A classic midcentury modern home looks fresh with crisp white walls and contemporary furniture. A sleek modern fireplace divides the otherwise open living and dining spaces and adds warmth -- visually and literally.
This bedroom gets a classic midcentury modern look from its furnishings. The sleek design of the lamp and bedside table complement the simplicity of the taupe wall and gray bed. The wall art adds a color pop.
Neutral Sofa With Midcentury Modern Light and End Table
Sometimes, the architecture of your home is the best guide for the style of the furnishings you fill it with; other times, its surroundings will direct you. When choosing furniture for this living room, designer Kristen Rivoli took the latter tack. “This space is in a building right next to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), in New York City, so our inspiration was the classic midcentury modern furniture you might find at the museum,” she says. “We found the side table at a vintage furniture store, but the sofa is new—it’s available through KRID but it has the lines of a classic tuxedo-style sofa. The Brittania light fixture is also new but adds to the midcentury style, and the toss pillows are custom-made in a mellow color palette typical of the ‘50s and ‘60s.”
In the sitting room, designers added additional seating with two chairs that are a Midcentury Modern take on the traditional wingback chair. Then, they added a fun, geometric patterned jade-green pillow for a pop of color and personality.
Beautifully designed architectural angles give this room a classic Midcentury aesthetic, with natural light flowing in from a small rectangular window to the sunroom with dark hardwood floors, a custom built-in for books and colorful furniture facing a view of the lawn.
In this neutral, dining room space, designers brought details into the space that truly brings the Midcentury Modern design to life. From the wood and white dining room set to the white, Midcentury Modern buffet with complementary mirror, this space truly accomplishes the stylish desires of the homeowners.
In the backyard, designers created a space that is perfect for outdoor entertaining. The pool area features a swimming pool and hot tub with an elegant water feature, while the lounge area hosts a freestanding fireplace as well as a set of outdoor chairs and a coffee table.
Midcentury Modern Dining Room With Classic Black and White Color Pairing and Wood Dining Table
A spider-like chandelier gives a funky, eye-catching element to the otherwise classic look of this dining design. Black chairs compliment the chandelier color and create a classic black and white color combo with the white walls and window curtain. A wood table brings a natural element and warmth to the room.
