A Luxurious Fur Throw
Designer Alice Cramer includes a soft and cuddly fur throw at the foot of the bed in this muted, grey-toned bedroom. As Cramer attests, the holidays don't have to be complicated. Use things you already have and just add the bling with seasonal touches. "Nothing prettier to a tabletop," says Cramer, "than simple glass containers of different sizes filled with cranberries, red berries, greenery and floating votive candles. Mix it in with silver service pieces filled with white flowers and various candlesticks." It's a look that works for a beautiful tabletop, or in accent tables in a guest room.
Don't settle for any old candles in your Christmas centerpiece. It's only a little extra effort to dress up some mismatched candlesticks with gold leaf. The gilded treatment ties the candlesticks together so the table looks warm and unified.
On HGTV's Flipping the Block, Amanda Marks and her boyfriend Curtis Goldin transformed the master bedroom using shabby chic furniture and accessories – including a sea glass vase and distressed candlesticks.
This dining room keeps its feel open and clean with furnishings and a light fixture that have graceful but simple lines. For warmth and softness, a trio of slim golden candlesticks and a round large mirror do the trick nicely.
An American country oak sideboard holds a collection of antique brass candlesticks, bowls and hand bells. A pair of Victorian tole lanterns, blue and white striped wallpaper and a Colonial painting add sophisticated country style to the space.
