Festive candle holders are created by placing pillar candles in a glass bowl filled with pinecones, ornaments and evergreen clippings. Make several to go down the center of the table or to dress up the bar. Scatter around glass ornaments for extra sparkle.
To create a stylish centerpiece, fill a compote with water and whole limes, and tuck flowers – stripped of most stems – in amongst the limes. Pinecones, ornaments or fresh, colorful vegetables like artichokes and radishes also serve as sturdy anchors for blooms. In addition to candle-filled votives set casually on the table, succulents placed in water-filled votive cups make charming tabletop decorations.
Create this simple, classic centerpiece with dishes and ornaments you have on hand. Top sprigs of fresh greenery with sparkling sliver and white ornaments, trees and mercury glass candle holders. The soup tureen in the center is both beautiful and functional. Photo by Marian Parsons.
For a quick, easy winter centerpiece use hot glue or super glue to attach evergreens to an assortment of glass canning jars. Fill the jars with candles, Christmas lights, or both and let the light twinkle through the greenery.

Create a tall grim centerpiece by filling a three-tier cake stand with various Halloween decor. HGTV fan Tamgypsy filled the centerpiece with glittery skulls, bones, spray-painted Christmas ornaments and a silver witch's hat. She placed miniature skulls on the plates and brought crystal elements to the table with candle holders and wine glasses.
To create the perfect mantel, Barnhardt says to take down everyday mantel decorations, including any framed prints. Hang a fresh evergreen wreath and then gather items from around your home that coordinate with each other. For example, she collects any porcelain and pottery with a green glaze displayed throughout her home and creates a vignette on the mantel by filling the pieces with fresh holly and white pine. Add favorite ornaments or safely place candles for a warm glow to complete the display.
