Transitional Dining Room with Antique Mirror
A custom, built-in mirror with rosettes adds antique charm and brightens up this transitional dining room. Polished brass accessories are glamorous accents that decorate a lacquered banquette featuring contemporary brass drawer pulls.
This dining room was designed around a single 18th century Italian chair the designer found in her client’s attic. Eleven additional chairs were made to complete the room. An antique Indian mirror hangs on the walls, which are lined with blond horsehair.
Designers wanted to add the home's original old world flair, so they repurposed an old door to be used as a mirror. This reflects the natural light from the window, making the space feel bright and open and also creates a focal point for the space.
White Transitional Dining Room With Mirrored Window
"I found an old paned window at a salvage yard and cut it down to fit the opening between this home's entry and dining room. It not only looks cool, but it cuts down on drafts," says Emily Jones, graphic designer and owner of Jones Design Company, Seattle, Washington.
Framed antique mirrors line the wall and encourage movement through this dark and light contrasted living room. The mirrors give the room a graphic punch, and the black piping on the cream sofas follows suit. The damask wallpaper and patchwork cowhide rug add texture to the space.
Positioned above a marble-topped single vanity, an antique mirror adds depth and dimension to this transitional powder room, making the space seem much larger. A brightly-colored woven rug gives the room a youthful touch.
An eclectic mix of furnishings and details makes this living room fun and fabulous. Antiques like the mirror and vase blend beautifully with the quirky antler chandelier and beautiful molding around the fireplace.
This gorgeous dining space design is a beautiful blend of styles with a subtle and effective southwestern influence. A distressed chandelier hangs over a simple and sleek natural wood table. White midcentury modern chairs compliment the white painted brick walls, featuring arch doorways.
This transitional bedroom feels effortlessly elegant, with crown molding, floor-to-ceiling windows and an antique armoire in the corner. A large gray area rug centers the space and softens the hardwood floors for guests' enjoyment.
Striped walls lend drama to this dining room featuring a glass-topped table and mirrored sideboard. A large framed mirror on the wall reflects long white drapes on the opposite wall and an ornate chandelier completes the look.
